Singapore Flyer #3 (and the city)

Another one from the Flyer, looking through the pods and the wheel itself back at the city. Again, unfortunately I had to shoot through the glass which was a bit annoying.

The big building on the left is the new (ish) hotel, Marina Sands. It has a giant, boat structure on the roof, atop three huge towers. The boat doubles as a bar and infinity pool looking out over the city. Sadly we didn't get a chance to go and take a look. Next time.

That said, I'm pretty sure Marina Sands is owned by one of the Vegas hotels (or their owners). While I love Las Vegas, I'm not sure their style fits in anywhere outside...Las Vegas. It looks like a lovely place to stay, but very...Las Vegas. I don't know how else to describe it. I'm not sure it's a style that quite fits in with a city that also has other styles to offer. Like Raffles.

  • Many nice pictures in here. I pick on this one to leave a first comment, because of the elements of the wheel framing the picture. the bright baby blue makes the city at night a more enigmaticand enticing one. And it makes for a great modern feel. I'll be back for more.
