Castle Esplanade

Was quite pleased with the detail in this one of Edinburgh Castle. You can see a higher resolution shot here (7MB). Incidentally, I cheated very slightly with the framing of this photo...

  • Hm. Well I'm not sure it's possible to cheat with framing, or anything else with photography to be honest. But that's my opinion.

I really like the detail here, too, as well as the different colors of light.

  • Heh, well, what happened was that the top of the flag pole was very nearly chopped off, so I resized the image and copied the night sky from around it and pasted 100px onto the top of the frame. Fortunately I didn't cut the flagpole off completely or I wouldn't have been able.

If you can be bothered to download the high res version, you can see the Union flag hanging on the flagpole, and if you look really closely, you can probably see where I've added the extra night sky.

  • I think on the right hand side, you can just see a red planet...it's Mars, I tell you! ;-)

  • It would be so cool to live on a mid evil castle like this! ;-)
